Josh started his racing career in the Quarter Midget
ranks and raced several classes for his 5 years at that level. Josh had
86 career "A" main victories and several fast times.
In 1999 Josh decided that the Quarter Midgets were not
fast enough and changed to 250cc Micro Sprints. In his rookie year, his
first win came along with 17 top 5 finishes and a 7th place points
finish.
2000 was a banner year with 12 feature wins and a 3rd
place points finish.
2001 brought the addition of a 600cc sprint and a 2nd
place points finish.
In 2002, Josh concentrated on the 600cc Micro Sprint.
While racing from Florida to Massachusetts, he added 7 more wins at 4
different tracks. This brings Josh's career total to 112 Feature wins.
Josh earned United Racing Club 2003 Rookie of the Year
and finished the 2004 season 13th in URC points.
August 15th 2004 - Susquehanna
360\358 Sprint Car Challenge Josh qualified his Wavetech Associates / Carl Weller State
Farm Insurance sprinter by winning his heat race. The top 12 cars were then
asked to draw numbers for starting positions and Josh picked the pole position.
Josh then started from the pole and led the first 16 laps until he was passed by
Kenny Adams. Josh finished a strong
second.
September 10th 2004 - Black Rock
Josh time
trialed the Wavetech Associates \ Carl Weller State Farm Insurance Sprinter in
the 16 position out of the 68 sprinters. Josh then started the feature from the
4th position, by the 4th lap Josh was leading the race. Josh and Curt Michael
raced for the remainder of the laps side by side with Josh still holding a
narrow lead. With the white flag waving Josh had to check up to keep from
running over the back of a lapped car and Curt was able to pass Josh. The
checkered waved and Josh finished a close second.
